Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 29mm ref 8638ST Automatic circa 1970s

An early and scarce 29mm stainless steel Royal Oak model ref# 8638ST with self winding movement. This is the first Royal Oak model designed specifically to fit a woman’s wrist. Introduced in 1976 this model features a gray tapisserie dial with no date or sweep seconds. The watch is powered by self winding caliber 7062 movement and is signed Automatic on the dial. A scarce first version Royal Oak for women, produced for only a brief period with automatic movement before the switch to a quartz movement in. Featuring a pleasing lightly faded and aged tropical grey waffle dial with excellent condition case and bezel and tight steel bracelet with fold over clasp that will fit a 6 1/2″ wrist. There is no box or papers, but of course guaranteed genuine. Recently serviced and offered with our 1 year warranty of accurate time keeping and operation.
