Description ABOUT THIS PAINTING I created Shatter The Narrative because I think we are all feeling a little bit cluttered these days. We are constantly being hit with so much noise from politics, the news, scammers, and endless propaganda. It is everywhere, and it is exhausting. We are constantly being told what to think, how to look, and what is true until it feels like there is a filter over our eyes and a muzzle on our voices. This piece is about that moment you decide to stop just watching and start truly seeing. I chose to put the bars over the eyes and mouth not to hide the person but to show the struggle of breaking through all that static. The text Truly See, Truly Hear, and Shatter The Narrative is a reminder to myself as much as it is to you. It is an invitation to peel back the layers of the stories we have been handed and find the raw, messy truth underneath. For me, this painting is a call to take back your own perspective. It is gritty, it is a little raw, and it is a reminder that once you decide to shatter the narrative, you finally get to start writing your own.
