Description ARTIST STATEMENT This ink-on-paper piece explores vulnerability, resilience, and the quiet act of choosing to remain standing when everything feels heavy. The figure is stripped down to its essence, almost dissolving into the surrounding atmosphere, yet still upright and present. The word Stand appears like an internal command rather than a declaration, followed by the unspoken continuation: stand up, stand still, stand through it. The looseness of the ink, the bleeding edges, and the splatters are intentional. They reflect emotional weight, pressure, and moments where control gives way to honesty. Red marks break through the grayscale like flashes of feeling… pain, energy, or life pushing back against numbness. Working on paper allows the piece to stay immediate and raw. There is no attempt to clean up the mess. This work is about endurance without heroics, about existing in the middle of uncertainty and choosing not to disappear.
